Sleights Moor

Sleights Moor is a great climb in the north east section of the North York Moors near Whitby. The climb starts from the River Esk Valley, in the village of Grosmont. As the climb leaves the village, it is steep straight away – hitting a maximum gradient of 20%. After a brief lefthander, 1km from the start its a relatively straight road. The climb eases off in the middle section before a long drag to the summit. The climb rises 254 m in close to 3.6km.

The climb featured in the 2016 edition of the Tour of Yorkshire, where Steven Kruijswijk set a KOM of 10.40 (VAM of 1,415) This was after climbing Sutton Bank earlier in the day.
