Zig Zag Hill

Zig Zag hill in Shaftesbury is often referred to as one of Britain’s ‘bendiest roads’. In a country where hairpins are rare, Zig Zag hill is an excellent example of a continental style engineered road with near 180 degree hairpins giving a smooth gradient throughout the climb. The steepest section is just after the start where the climb briefly rises to above 10%, but after that the climb is always less than 10% and there are three real hairpins to tackle.
